Is that PN single or two speed?

Time span

This mdl was from 1974-1979 (TOL) The Constellation had that syle PN.

This is a TOL because it had a headlight time span mid 70's.

Starting around 1981, the power nozzle changed design. Also in 1981, Hoover came out with the Spirit line of canisters to supplement and later replace the lower-tiered members in the Celebrity line.

In 1982, they brought over from France the Electronic 1000 canister, which in Europe was known as the Sensotronic 1000. The power nozzle is definitely USA-made because in Europe the Sensotronic PNs do not look the same. Around 1984-85 this was finally replaced by the USA-made Dimension 1000, which also had two or so less-expensive models (e.g. Dimension 900).

Love the name they gave for the tool storage on these Celebritys: a Tool Garden! :-)

Here is a picture of that hoover constellation that I was talking about, it needs a new paint job but otherwise it is perfect, also the floor nozzle is missing, so I went across the street to my grandparents house to borrow there Dial-A-Matic's floor nozzle attachment so I could use it for my constellation.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the power nozzle come later? IIRC, when the Celebrity debuted in 1974, it was suction only. It had a switch in the handgrip to turn the unit on and off. The power nozzle came with the Celebrity II somewhere around 1977.

I talked with the previous owner and she said that she got it with the power-nozzle in 1977.
