Looks like this could be a version of the constellation??? At any rate, I am picking it up this afternoon with a box of attachments for $8

Nope, not a constellation, though my brain's gone and can't recall what it is (Could be Celebrity?)... :)

Yes it is definitely a Celebrity, and they are wonderful machines. I think you will be expecting a visit from President Fred soon!

its a Celebrity Air Ride, rather like a squashed Constellation

Yay! I love Celebrities! Great cleaners. The 'air-ride' models were always the low-end model... But they're so cool; like flying saucers. I do have an air ride model in my collection that has a powerhead... Found it in someone's trash on a rainy night... Cleaned up very nicely once it dried out. :-)

The first canister I bought for my apt, had to try it. Stirred up dust nicely, but decent power, I think paid like $40 new?

Well, here it is... Works very nicely but will need a bit of a cleaning up. The Hoover emblem is also missing, if anyone has one they would be willing to sell that would fit on here I would be quite interested!

There was just a Hoover logo on eBay - closed about an hour ago with one bid. Sorry if you missed it.

Imagine that, women being taught how to be housewives in school, they call that sexist these days... :S

The Celebrity was a testament to the quality motors Hoover made.

If you can find parts for it!
I have an early 80s Celeb. chrome and green model that i love, but the hose is getting weaker and weaker, as is the brush roll and belt in the PN.
The locking tabs on the wands are also getting very loose, and wont hold, and, the bags for the Celeb. are now getting harder to find, not to mention motor filters and where can i get a new hose?
Sure dont have any of these problems with my TriStar or Kirby!
