This one turned out nice! Can't stop looking at it. Been working on two 1205's and a Silverado for months and finally completed all this week while on vacation. This PN2 was so bad when I got it. I wish I had taken more before as well as after pictures. So happy to finally have it working and looking like new.

1205 PN2

pnluxconvlvr's profile picture
The metal came out nice from a lot of elbow grease and Mothers on both the 1205 and PN2.

I like the embossed finish on this 1205.

pnluxconvlvr's profile picture
The 1205 I grew up with was smooth so this is new for me.

Always wanted a PN2 as well growing up.

I love this 50th Anniversary PN2. A quality emblem for sure. Quality of a different time.

New clear tubing.

pnluxconvlvr's profile picture
You NEED another smaller piece of tubing to feed through. I wrestled with this for a bit. Used a small socket adapter to hold the two hoses together to feed through top. A lot to hold at one time while reassembling. Did push it further onto port before replacing top.:)

New rear wheels.

Put new wheels on all my vacuums. Not a single dent on this 1205! Wow.

Rebuilding the PN2

pnluxconvlvr's profile picture
This was a lot of work and a lot of fun. I still can't believe how bad this unit was. I was able to save the motor with a lot of tlc and forced air. Brushes were actually good. Replaced everything but the actual base. It works and sounds fantastic! To me nothing like that Electrolux PN sound! Love it!

Ready for everything to go together. Could not wait!

pnluxconvlvr's profile picture
I have always loved the PN1 but this PN2 is now tied. New bearing blocks, elbow, cord, brushroll and belt. I did make a square of electrical tape to adhere to the underside of the metal top where it goes over the motor.

Everything is ready with the new cord.

Awesome...beautiful PN2! I'm really envious of the metal cased PN2, as I have the plastic turquoise PN1 to go with my 1205's. Shouldn't your crevice tool and upholstery brush be turquoise (period) as well? That's the only reason I bought my set, but wish now I had held out for the metal cased PN2.:-(

Where did you get all your parts, if you don't mind me asking?

Kevin

Nice Restoration

The 1205 and the PN2 both look absolutely wonderful!! I recently replaced the brush roll in my PN2 and discovered that the motor can be moved to make a loose or tighter fit for the belt.

Great Job !!!!!

Hi Kevin,
I would love to have an aqua crevice tool and combo tool, but have not found a good original yet. I almost got a wide one from a Model G and still want one of those too. I like the beige coloring too though. That is an original GJ crevice tool in perfect condition with it. :) Tyler

Hi suckolux

pnluxconvlvr's profile picture
I keep walking into my office just to look at it. I really like the 50th Anniversary PN2 and model 1210 too which I hope to have sometime. :) Tyler

I love the PN1 too Kevin.

pnluxconvlvr's profile picture
As much as I like the PN2 I still have a special affinity for the PN1. I also grew up with a PN1 and just think they are a timeless work of art! :) Tyler

Thanks kloveland

I discovered when I was finishing the rebuild. Thought I had been sold the wrong belt and ordered another then realized the belt was right. This is an adjustment on all but the PN1 I believe. I think it is awsesome to share info like that to help everyone. Thanks :) Tyler

I found a lot of these parts from an awesome guy at Vac Sew Center. Great parts and an honest good guy. Can't say that about some others I came across. Some came from Ebay and a few came from various vendors that I found after hours and hours and hours of web searching for exact items. A lot of phone calls too. I almost got put off with the whole thing as I got quite a bit of attitude from quite a few people offering services. Then realized it was about my hobby and what makes me happy. People that know it all don't. I like good real people. Beware especially of vendors that want you to order and can't even tell you if it is an available item.:)
