Here it is... I now have all 3 sanitronics! Unsure if this is the original bag or not...

Great find, but...

Weren't there 4 sanitronics including the 562, sanitronic 7, d50 and d80?

A 562 would still be part of the 500 series though

Well you are correct that the 562 was dubbed "sanitronic" so I will rephrase my claim that I have all non 500 series sanitronics now :)

The "562" would be a transitional model of sorts, a limited edition because it is not only the last of the 500 series but is also the first of the Sanitronic series.

And although it is the last of the 1956-style 500 series, it does not share the gray/red trim of the earlier models.

It was around October of 1962 that the 562 would be replaced by the Sanitronic VII, which would make the "562" Sanitronic very short-lived.

Ben & Kirby Sanitronic 562...

a007kirbyman's profile picture
Hello Ben & all,

The Kirby Sanitronic 562 was actually produced from 05/'62 'til 02/'63. The production for the Kirby Sanitronic VII then began 02/'63.

The Kirby 561 could also be considered & 'transitional' model also, as that is when the new style Belt Lifter, new style sprayer were introduced & the Belt Lifter was the only one with the 'sunburst' & red logo.

Over the years it's sometimes tricky to decide where to draw the line [in the sand] so-to-speak, as to the 'changes' made w/ the various models of Kirbys.

I hope this info. is helpful.

Cheers & hagd all,

Bill

But the model 560 had the sunburst belt lifter also, so how did the 561's differ?

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned that the bag is a slightly later Classic 1CR replacement bag (lacks the Kirby Classic patch)... :P

Hershel & Kirby 560...

Hello Hershel & all,

Thank you, you are correct Hershel.

I knew that was incorrect after I posted it, (I was thinking more of the new style sprayer in combination with that model. [See below]), then got busy at the shop & didn't get back to correct it.

Again, thank you for catching that.

Cheers & hagwknd all,

Bill
