Now for the NEWS!!!

Jimmy wants to get involved with the club again, he has more machines than anyone .....I say this without reservations, he has come to the point of being out of room, and would like to see if a group of interested folks would come dig out some of the stuff,....he has duplicates and triplicates of many rare old machines for us older collectors, as well as tons of 70s 80s and 90s machines that our younger members would like, now...he is NOT going to sell you a Roll Easy for 5 bucks, but he will be MOST reasonable!!...anyway, call him and see what he is willing to part with...Jimmy Martin, The Vac Shop,520 east E street Elizabethton Tenn..37643....Ph..423-543-7900.

I find it very interesting how companies recycle names...that 1962 Kenmore Whispertone is so cool...

Do you think you could organize a mini-meet at Jimmy's between now and the convention or maybe after the convention? I bet if people could fly/drive/train/bus or whatever to get there they would be far more inclined to buy vacs if they can see them in person.

Jimmy if near enough to me that I would be more than willing to drive up to have a, "look-see", at his sellable items. I'm sure some of the long time club diehards would move mountains to make a trip there.

Does this sound like something that could happen? (For me, I need a lot of advance notice to get the time off for a weekend as I bid my schedule 3 months in advance. Not sure about others, but the more advance time the better usually works best for all.)

SUPER COOL!!!A GOLDMINE OF VINTAGE VACS!!!ALL IN ONE PLACE.JUST PAY HIM-THEN BACK UP THE TRUCK TO THE BACK OF THE PLACE-LOAD UP!Remember a Spencer vacuum at the agency I work at-was in DC plant.Relubed its bearings and was great for studio PM-The machine is now long gone.wished they "Surplused" it to me.Was a cool fun vac to use-and POWERFUL!!its 6A motor could give the same power as most 10A motors of today.Had a Lamb motor on it.Was previously used for collecting cuttings from disc recorder lathes(records).SIGH-no places like that in my area-its a dream-and I have dreamed about places like the one shown.

Hey Hans, if you put a gathering together, let me know. It's been years since I've been to Elizabethton and it would be great to see old friends.

Hans, be sure and keep us posted if you are planning something.  I am sure that Jimmy has so many machines that most of us have never seen.
