I was looking online and it seems that 220 to 120v transformers are reasonably inexpensive. So, I thought this could be an opportunity to try a vintage Hoover Junior. That is if I could find a seller that could internationally.

I'm asking about the wattage because the price of a transformer varies by the watt-output. So, what is the highest wattage Hoover Junior vacuum, and I'm referring to the side-bag original model, not the hard-cover model. I'm thinking 500 watts would be more than enough?

370/375 were (from memory) 225w, 1334-onwards were 250w... the last few models were 300w.

500w is plenty, my U1104 was 300 Watts, and my 1334 and 1346 are 250 Watts, so, you should be with a 500w transformer... :)

Dave (twocvbloke),

Your 1346 was made in June 1967. Is it the one with the orange belt cover or does it have the dark brown belt cover?

I have no idea what belt cover it originally had, cos this is how it was when I got it (although you don't get the smell, that was just nasty!!):
