I'm late to the ball on my estate sale stuff as the folks finally went out for a couple hours and I got to sneak my February and March haul in the house. Unlike Fred who *allegedly* has to be dragged to go to sales, I love them and if you go with me your butt better be up and ready to go at 5:30.

Apparently my haul was 99% Hoover and mostly canisters to boot. The gray Spirit in the back is an oddball as it is a model S3261 (w/Celebrity style curved wand) but was bought 1/24/87 at Dillards, and my M. Eleanor Seger 3261-030 (w/the pistol grip hose) I currently have was bought 6/8/85, so Dillards held those first model 3261 Spirits for 3-4 years?

Funny you should mention that Dennis

I got yet another 4195 "Venture Custom Convertible" only this time it's an uber early model in the 2000 serial range and look at the base and tell me what's different about it.

Metal fan to boot

And look how clean that brushroll chamber is, considering it had a full bag when I bought it. I guess the woman used it till it got full then put it downstairs for 30 years as she mostly had hardwood floors and used the daylights out of her Regina Electrikbroom.

YEP!

That is a filled Decade 80 base. Not the first I've seen, I am impressed it kept the plate that holds the back wheels on, asI recalled Hoover was to replace that if it came in for service with one that has the x pattern ridge on it because these were weak, and if you look at yours it is bent, which happens frequently.

If you want to sell/trade that unit one day let me know, I'd love to have one like that. BEAUTIFUL!!!

BTW: Good to hear from you!

Fabulous haul, Alex! Love the Swingettes.. and those Spirits! The Spirit is such a sweet little machine. I have that same green Spirit -- but I need to fix the cordwinder. It rewinds itself while you're using the machine. :-/ That Convertible is in remarkably clean shape; much like the shape my Panasonic is... Hardly used at all, it seems.

Thanks for sharing the fabulous pictures!

Thanks all

Derreck's bf Brandon ended up with the green Spirit as it also has cordwinder issues and he was short on his quota of machines to take out of the house. For those who don't know about the quota, every time any of the sweeper people come over to my house my mom has a requirement of 2 vacs per person ("2 vac minimum Scoob!") must leave the house except so many people have taken tours of my collection they leave empty handed because they have what I have or what I have is so nice and mint I won't budge

Fred, your Spirit probably just needs a new brake pad, if you got a junker Dimension, Spirit, or later model Celeb they should all use the same slide in replaceable brake pad

And knowing me there's a Kenmore involved somewhere

Not an estate sale score, just what a $5 check to the Our Redeemer Ladies Guild rummage sale got me (tools are in the lid before you ask)

Im in love with that Kenmore and the Rager hood Convertible!
Dont part with that Kenmore. That looks like one of the first Panasonic style Power mate that has only the belt guard and not the 2 smaller supports/guards. Am I right?

I was waiting on you Kenny

Yes it only has the belt guard and it's a Whirlpool style Powermate.
