Well here is a different one.

Stopped into my favorite goodwill today. I have found the following machines here-1950s Montgomery Wards upright- Atlas canister- Dial a matic- 1933 Hoover 450-Oreck XL9100- Hoover concept One- Hoover concept TWO- 3 dirt devil hand vacs,-and some other things

I always feel lucky going in there. I usually find something I could use.

They always have between 5 and 15 vacuums on display.

Each machine costs me $10.

_____

This is a 70s Kenmore Duo-power in fully working, non damaged condition.

Inside the bag compartment. Took me 5 minutes to figure out how to open it!

Had an entire pack of bags with it, and a fresh one installed! How convenient.

And the back.

It does have a working cord winder. I just pulled it out to check the cord.

FUN! Have never seen one of those and it is my era of course. We did the Wards thing, Sears was other side of town, now later have converted. Of course, with Wards gone....

They also have this ugly machine!

Lol the colors are so bad! Dont know what Monkey wards was thinking at the time.

Its kind of cool. But I will stick with my 1972 eureka vanguard.

I keep telling Greg to get it! Its been there for weeks and weeks.

Someone needs to save that Wards with the cord reel! Even if for no other reason than to put it in the "for-sale" or "free" pile at the convention...

You are VERY lucky that bags came with the Kenmore Duo-Power,,they are not and have been not avalible from Sears for many yrs now. Infact i believe there are no replacement parts for any of the DuoPowers avalible anymore. Hang onto that, its already very rare, especially the deluxe model you have.
Congrats on the Great finds! Definatly go back and grab that MW with the cord winder.

Thanks all!

Hey Fred, If the MWs is still there in a few days, Ill grab it. Would hate to see it go to the dump.

Its like my 72 vanguard in that it has the VGI, and such, but no power touch controls.

Mmm.. 2 Monkey wards machines that are Rare!

They do have another regular upright. You can see the corner of it in the corner of the first picture.

Its identical, but no cordwinder.

Hi vacbear.

That is a eureka vacuum, not a hoover. :) Thats why it has the boxtop.

Be careful lifting/handling the Duo-Power. The plastic casing on them has a tendency to crack

Come on down to omaha!

You will not believe the things that pass through this goodwill.

That black eureka in the first picture is an ESP self propelled with the Vibra groomer Two in it. Its practically unused. Almost walked out with it.

Im real tempted to grab that whispertone canister. I absolutely love the whispertone kenmores. Grew up around one.
