Could anyone please find out whether or not this information would be correct?

I know the 903 (as well as the prior 880 and 890) is based on the Royal 880.

The 777... based on the Royal 602.

But here's a tough one... is the 285 based on that of the Royal 801?

It Could Be

The 285 came out in 1955 and was the first Electro-Hygiene with a revolving brush. Might have also been based on the 601.

Jeff,

If that's true, then in 1966, when Royal replaced the 601 with the 602, the 777 replaced the 285 in the EH lineup.
