Anyone have any experience with any of the new cordless vacs. I would like something to do a quick pass over pet hair etc. Been looking at the Hoover Lynx, Dirt Devil, and a Shark. Lynx is mad expensive though. Electrolux ErgoRapido gets some really bad reviews so I think that one is out.

Ive got the Hoover Linx. Ive had it for over a month and so far I love it. Its the best corless Ive used.I know there expensive but I got mine for a steal, that is the only reason I got it. The box was marked clearance at Target about a week before my b-day so I couldnt leave it there.

I have used the DirtDevil 14.4 volt and it seemed to do good as far as the filter not clogging to fast, and years ago I had the Eureka Quick-Up(Straight suction) followed by The Boss Lite(Power brush) and those worked great as well. Even with 2 dogs the Quick-Up picked up a fair amount of dog hair, but not so much for the cat. By the time I got the PN version we no longer had the cat.The Eureka would be the cheaper of the bunch and it perfoms pretty well for a cheapy.
I hope this helps.
Kenny

LOVE my LiNX! Its so much fun, good run time, ok noise level, surprising amount of power, picks up the heavy carpet! Hate, too strong a word for the lux Pronto? Batteries went dead from the never liked it and parked it. No, hate works.

i agree go with the linx if you can afford it, but though there are bad reviews i have both the ergorapido ultra+ and the ergorapido ion and i would highly recommend them as long as you clean the filter every few heavy uses (i just vacuum it off every week or so). i have the ulra+ for a couple years now and it still works great

If money is a problem, go with a dirt devil, if not, than by all means, go with a Hoover Linx

I don't have the Linx, but people seem to love them.... if I had to chose between Hoover, Dirt Devil, and Shark, I'd go with the Hoover... it seems to be the best quality and most powerful of the 3 despite the fact that TTI makes it.

Get the Black and Decker Pivot Vac PSV1800....

This cordless vac is highly rated by Consumer Reports - much better than the Electrolux Ergorapido and Pronto. It is excellent in cleaning surface litter on medium pile carpet, bare floors and has excellent edge cleaning. It has excellent emissions control, and is rated "good" for pet hair removal. It's a little noisier than the Electroluxes. CR reports that it takes 21 hours for it to get to full charge, and that gives you on average of 12 minutes of run time. It costs $100 and is the only stick vac tested which received an "excellent" mark for surface litter removal on carpet.

Here's a link to the B&D webpage for the vac:

I had an Elux Ergo Rapido and it was quite good BUT it didn't handle our long dog hair which kept wrapping itself around the brushroll. Other than that fine. I gave it to a friends sister and she loves it.. doesn't have long haired dogs. Many of those small quick vacs have thin brushrolls that don't handle long dog hair, so beware.
