Hi all do I have to go though Oreck to purchase a new motor for my Oreck XL air cleaner?

Sorry, yes.

I am sorry, but that might be the only way to get one. I have not been able to find parts for one of my Air 8s. They are also rather pricy. It might be cheeper to get a used machine on eBay and use one or the other as a parts machine.

Thanks!!!

The motor is running slow,I cleaned and lubed it but it didn't help.My oreck store said he sees this problem a lot and said the motor most likely worn out,he could sell me a replacement motor for $40.00. But being in the vacuum bus. I was hoping to find one at essco or hessco for less, but no luck.

Oreck air purifier

I wish I had known you needed one as I JUST took mine to the Goodwill last week! It still worked fine but I could not see that it was doing any good. The only thing that ever got dirty on mine was the pre-filter. I had replaced it with an Electrolux Oxygen Plasmawave. Now that machine REALLY pulled in the dust but the hepa filters are expensive.
I had had mine for several years and had it serviced one time at the Oreck store for about $80.00. They did a good job with the repair.
