Hi all. Just making it into the vintage forum is this U4147 which I have just finished restoring.
The other ones I've seen on the forum are bright red but this one is more of a muddy red colour.
It's such a strange machine, with its US/UK mix. The Ranger hood with height adjuster window on top is so unusual. You can see where the handle bail has been altered so that the flex comes out at the side instead of going up the handle like US home machines. The tartan bag is unusual too - no Hoover logo here!
I put a standard Ranger lens on to it to see what it looked like. I think it looks better, but there is no light bulb of course!
All the best, Jonathan

VERY SHARP!

Love the plaid bag. However, I'm a sucker for anything plaid. I've been told it's my favorite - color -

Anything plaid!

I might buy one of these in Holland, can you tell me how the bag fits on as I have seen bags with a round hole in a cardboard flange on ebay, does it have a high "siphon" pipe inside the cloth bag? thanks amateursewing @ gmail.com
