Is it OK to use an older Kirby as a dailey driver, even if it has bad bearings? Could this damage the motor, or mke it "wear out" faster?

Should not do it.

I don't recommend using a vacuum with bad bearing for very long. Bearings are not too expensive, so I suggest that you have the bearing replaced as soon as you can if you want to use it as your 'daily driver'.

If you keep using it, the bearings can seize and not allow the armature to turn as it should. That won't be good.

Front bearings are easy to sort out, strip the motor down, pull the front bearing out, replace it with a new one and that's that sorted, the rear one needs a small motor puller though, see example link below, but as per the front, pull it off, replace with new, tap it on carefully and you're done... :)

Fresh bearings and no chance of seizing up... :)
