G.E. AVT-172

I will always have a soft spot for this machine since it's the one I remember my grandmother having before a visit from the Kirby dealer. I just love how quiet they run, you can really hear the rush of air. Does anyone know about when they were manufactured? I know the later ones had the short runners instead of the full runners (like this one). Were they made alongside the first canister (the AVC-815)?

GE AVT 172

I have a GE AVT 172 (serial #55100) that is in almost new condition. It has all the tools, a printed owners fold-out and it's in the original box. I just plugged it in and turned it on... runs like new. Is there a market for something like this for collectors?
