Here's a piece not shown in the hot mess thread, and after viewing Fred's recent Spirit acquisitions and going through my Kodak picture folders, I thought I'd show some of my own.
This is a canister I got at a Crestwood sale back in October 2007, Hoover's 3261-022 2.2hp model with the upgraded handlegrip hose, hence the -022. Well taken care of, came with no missing tools, has the manual and warranty/accessory order forms, and even the original receipt from Famous Barr. The only downside I have about it is it would be nice to have a cordwinder, but nonetheless, it does what it's supposed to do, and that's clean. |

Apparently the Hoover folks made multiple uses out of the extra numbers after the main model number to indicate some sort of small change, here's a few I've noticed.
-900 (tools included with the vacuum) -001 (front conversion C bag metal Convertibles previously rear from 76-78?, plastic base versions of 1977 A bag lineup, also on the U4195 it was added to indicate the boxtop A bag model) -030 (Air Freshener tab added to some Concepts and A bag Convertibles/Decades in mid 80's, change from 2.6hp to 3.7hp motor in some Celebrity QSs, change from outside PN cord hose to standard fare bumpy Celeb hose in the IV 3131, in the DAMs and the Celeb IIs I believe the cord went to the square plug from the skinny rectangular plug and the Celebs they changed to the familiar bumpy hose from what I call the "easy split" vinyl hose) -048 (used on some mid to late 80's C bag Convertibles to indicate the A bag version of them) This post was last edited 12/11/2010 at 18:13 |
