Is it just me or do the new all plastic Sanitaire motors smell 'funny' for lack of a better term after running for a bit?

I had a brand new Eureka commercial....(all plastic).Im not sure how similar they are in respect...but mine never had any strange smells after running for long periods.

Didn't get any odors or smells from the three I have.

I don't have a sanitaire with the newest motor, but my S634 smelled for a little bit. the SC-888 didn't.

We haven't had any problems yet and install a good many per week. I use the "off brand" Sanitaire replacement motor (same one used in the Perfect). It is just as good, if not nicer than the original Pancake motor.

Agree with reply #4 No funny smells or the like here either, install quite a few every week... a pretty nice motor.

Hmm, guess I'll let it run in a bit more and see if it goes away.

MB1981-
Try it and see... but check the motor often just to be sure everything is ok for the 1st month, if all is good then its good to go; if not and you see signs of scorching or excessive wear... swap the motor.
