I just won a Hoover Dial-a-Matic model 1140 and I need to replace the beater-bar-brush. My usual Hoover parts site doesn't seem to list my model on its parts inventory. Does anyone know where I can order one? I would like an old fashioned metal roller with the beater bar. My local vacuum shop has a Maytag replacement part but it's all brush--no beater bar. I'm a firm believer in the bar. Also, does anyone know where I can purchase a "Hoover" metal decal that fits in the cast aluminum housing of the unit. The one on the machine is in bad shape and has 3 prongs that hold it in place.

Thank you

Thanks for the leads. By the way, how does one remove the brush strips from these beater/bar rolls? Is it simply a matter of prying them out or does one need to take the whole agitator roll assembly apart?

brush rolls

You can download a pdf file of the owner's manuals at hoover.com. This will show you how to do it.
