Ok, so I had to replace the brushroll on our commercial Simplicity at my church a few months back. Well, low and behold, the bristles are worn down already (after about 3 months). Now granted, it is a very tough commercial carpet and there is miles and miles of it, but a brushroll only lasting a few months? Sugestions/Tips/Etc would be well appreciated!

That's why I like Sanitaires, packs of brush strips are $5.95 and last a while.

Sorry I don't have any suggestions for you. I barely know those vacs, but if they have the brushrolls like I'm thinking of (the ones we stock), there is no alternative style. Again, could be wrong on that, though.

Question,

Are there metal strips between rooms, floor registers, sliding door track, if so, the janitor may be running for those items and that is very hard on the brush strips.

Just a thought,

The brush strips are replacable but are a royal pain to replace. I have a feeling that replacing the strips is just covering up a bigger problem that will reappear. We also have trouble with the metal rollers because of the salt in winter. The commercial runners get vacuumed with tons of salt on them while they're still wet. I was thinking of suggesting just a cheap vac for the runners because the salt eats away at the metal rollers.
There are some metal strips inbetween the church pews and inbetween the transition of carpet to tile.
