I was thinking...wouldn't it be nice if Hoover produced a new classic styled Convertable to go with the new Connie. Can you imagine a silver/stainless steel and black design; or black and white design..!!! Somebody who has some clout with Hoover should suggest it to them. Or maybe they're already thinking in that direction. Whada'think???

I'd buy it

...they could use the commercial Guardsman, which is still in production, and add a classic-style hood and bag. It wouldn't be that difficult to make. It would make a great rug-cleaning companion to the Constellation.

well, lots of folks (me) never took to the plastic main casting. and i think we can assume anything under 200 dollars would have to be chinese. add more $ for metal castings. they could sell an aluminum Convertible as a premium vacuum, but should add sealed bearings to the agitator, and perhaps a squeegee/brush strip to allow the bottom plate to hug bare floors. it CAN be done, with good advertising.

I agree

The only way the Convertible would make it today is to have the ability to clean bare floors. They would have to add a squeegee and a non-beater bar brush roll. Hoover could pair it with a constellation or that little shoulder vac they make. I know they could give Oreck and the Oreck wannabes a run for their money. The Hoover name alone would sell it I think. Of course price would play into it. I would love to hear the gentle purr of an old Convertible any day over my SCREAMING Oreck. Although,it does very well in my situation.
I hope someone from Hoover monitors these sites. Maybe they will get the idea and run with it. Tim
