Some people have no respect today

I once knew a guy who painted a model G red, white and blue, and the white has gold stars. I love my country, I love my flag, but as a vacuum cleaner? Don't desecrate my flag and don't mess with my Electrolux's.

As for this fool, (and trust me it's not the word I want to use, but I'll keep it clean,) I see why the bid is only $9.00. He should pay me that just to look at it.

I would be Livid!

Why would anybody want to do something like that to an old Electrolux? I certainly would not do anything like that to one of mine--God Forbid Hot Pink?!?!?!?!?

Personally, I don't think it's that big of a deal. They were made from 1937 until 1954, that's 17 years. There are thousands of them still out there, they're one of the most common vacuums! The seller was just being creative, and it's not like it's the last XXX on Earth.

Just wondering....

This could not be possibly that seller who has done this to other vacuums on ebay, painting them a different or or trys to match closely. Someone on ebay painted a Blue/Gray constilation, does anyone remember this? I know one of the club memebers on here explained to her how bad what she was doing to vintage vacuums.

As far as common old vacuums, I am not sure about that. There have been many, you are right, but we could say that about all kinds of vacuums, makes,(there were thousands of Hoover convertibles made, look how many years that lasted) models and so on. I think it would be fun to see if you can find all of them, you see, I hope I am right Charles Richard, that there slight changes in the years, just slight, but yet different in model XXX's.

Yes, I know everyone has the right to their own opinion, so I am sharing mine. For some of you who know me, I do not knock down any vacuum even if I do not like it because someone else likes that vacuum somewhere in the world and they see a purpose for it. I do try to look for the uniqueness of any vacuum no matter how old or new. Isn't that what we collect, vacuum cleaners?

I have mixed emotions

kenmore81's profile picture
On one hand I like to keep my vintage appliances as original as possible,on the other hand I kind of like the colors, it kida brings the old and new together.
Who knows mabe it was to rusty to brig it to a like new shine?
As for the Connie that person(If it was the same one I dont know) did do a BAD job at painting that one.

A new paint job (even a pink one) is a better fate than most XXX's have suffered. At least its not subject of a horrific utube video. Or chucked in the trash.
You don't usually see people cry bloody murder when someone paints an old car pink.
Just my two cents.

Well seeing as how I have one just like it I would NEVER do anything like that to it. I tell what is cool to do: take a Kirby Classic III and put a Tradition Bag and hadle on it and put the red trim and handle grip and cord on it and you have a Patriotic Kirby or a Louisiana Tech Kirby GO BULLDAWGS!!!!
