my daily drivers are either my Fantom Cyclone xt or my kirby G3 that I just got the other day. however the fantom seems to pick up more dirt than any other vacuum that I use and I dont know why. |

Kirby Heritage 2 with a G4/5 inner bag, and 4 row brush roller, and for above the floor cleaning, or if i dont feel like using the Kirby, i prefer the TriStar CXL with PN, and Hepa filter on the exhaust. I think its a CXL anyway,,it is the all silver and black speckled metal one before they changed to plastic. Once in awhile i will use the Central Vac (its a 2008 Honeywell, replaced an old 1990 Beam system)with a Turbocat Turbine Brush,,but wrestling 30 ft. of hose around doorways, corners, ect. is a pain. The Turbocat is OK, on low pile carpets, but not as agressive as i would like on thicker plie,,not near as effective as the Kirby. I do like the vac pan hooked up to the Central Vac for sweeping up in the kitchen and garage tho,,very handy. The Central Vac is excellent for cleaning out the car! |

I alternate between my Kirby Legend II or Kirby g5 (both with the cloth HEPA bags.) Once in a while I will get out my factory rebuilt Dual Sanitronic 80 and give it a whirl just to keep it in smooth running condition. I love the way the Legend II looks and sounds the best, but I also love the way the G5 looks and grooms the carpet. I also love the suction of the G5 in attachment mode. The DS80 was the very first Kirby I ever remember seeing as a child and was my grandmothers that I had rebuilt at the factory a couple of years ago. It gets minimal use.

For carpets, I'm alternating right now between a Kirby G3 and my recently acquired Hoover Z400. Yes, the Z400 is bulky, badly balanced and bagless, but it does a great job on pet hair and grooms my medium pile carpet well. If only it didn't concentrate so much weight on the handle. For hard floors, I stick to a Miele Flamenco II. |

Upstairs is my newish orange Kenmore canister,If im in hurry I grab the Hoover Shabby till it crokes. Downstairs I usualy grab my vintage Kenmore canister but its wearing so I have been going for my Convertible or Eureka upright, and the duros for my couch and the shop. I don't like to use my older vacs to much as I often vacuum 2x a day if I can.But for the most part I use the older vacs downstairs where they are kept. |

I was thinking the same thing as Brian, we all seem to use a Kirby as a daily driver. I don't vacuum every day but I always use my Vacuflo system, alternating between my non electric hose and TurboCat, and my direct connect hose and Eureka Express p/n. When I use the Turbo hose i usually use my Kirby for the carpets as the TurboCat just doesnt give it that deep cleep. I don't think I could live without my Kirby, its a design thats stood the test of time, and a machine thats built to last a lifetime!

My trusty white and blue Eureka Dial-a-Nap upright from 1982. Over 25 years old and still does what it's supposed to do - clean carpets well. Nothing fancy - no headlight, no Vibragroomer, no cord reel, no on-board tools. Just a good basic Eureka vac. It cost about $100 including attachments at the time it was bought! |

I agree with you Kirbyman89, altho i have to admit i do have an original NIB Rainbow D2,with the original Eureka made PN, but dont use it often. I keep it because of the novelity. Sure is a pain the A** to use, would sure hate to have to clean a large home with it every week! A friend gave it to me out of his Grandmother's estate after she passed,,she had not used the machine hardly at all,(was too much vacuum for her) and none of the attachments or PN had ever been used and were still wrapped in plastic from the factory. The chrome dome is still like a shiny new mirror. Just couldnt stand to see it all go to the dump. |

Mine is a Kirby Ultimate G Diamond Edition!! However I have so many vacuums, it is always hard to decide which one to use. My canister is most always an Electrolux of some sort. Any way I probably should vacuum a lot more then I do..... |

I knew the Spirit wouldn't last very long, lol. I still use the Power Drive downstairs, and the Sentria every once and a while, but now it is the G5. I like it SO much better than the Sentria, it is better looking, and it just feels like it is working better than the Sentria. And the transmission sounds a bit better than the Sentria's also.

I don't use Rainbow as my daily driver. I use Kenmore Progressive with cloth bags. The only time I use the Rainbow anymore is with the 14 foot non electric hose. I can get on a ladder and get high places so EASY (top of kitchen cabinets, ceiling fans, anything u can think of up high.) I also use it as a blower to blow the dust from the coils at the bottom of the fridge. But NO WAY am I using it everyday. I don't think the Rainbow is a piece of CRAP, nor is Kirby. But I definitely know the Rainbow is WAYYY overpriced! I'd probably use it more if I had a better power head, but since my Kenmore seems to work just as well as the Rainbow with the cloth bags, I don't wanna splurge for another power head right now. I have to Kenmore progressive power heads but they won't fit Rainbow. |

I've been using the Oreck XL2 that I just got a few days ago at my mom's house. They have really big bags, which is a plus when you have five dogs; it's really light, so it goes from upstairs to downstairs to the basement really easily; it can clean the hard floors and the carpets and rugs pretty well; and what I really love is how well it grooms the carpet. I put a new brush in it when I bought it and it grooms so well. |

Hmmm....Well, right now, I am using my Bissell Healthy Home 5770....been WAY TOO LONG since I took it out of it's box & used it! I also am using my Kenmore 220 Twin Fan from the early 1990's, & that's also my "loaner" vacuum I let the neighbors use occasionally. And I just placed an order for the Hoover Windtunnel Air Pro upright, so I can't wait to get my hands on it & compare it to my Bissell & the Dyson Ball vacuums....and knowing me, I won't be able to stop using it for at LEAST a couple of months!

At the moment it's my new Vax VCU-02 - just love how lightweight it is and perfect for those quick clean ups. For more involved cleaning "once a week" including dusting of shelves, ceilings, its the choice of the Sebo D2 Total.
At my rental flat, its the choice of the Miele S5211 or for quick dust arounds with a low powered eco friendly vac, my Sebo Felix. |

My current daily driver is a Sebo D2 Total. Have only had it a couple or three weeks so far and am really pleased with it, especially since we just adopted a cat who sheds like crazy over anything he comes into contact with. It copes well with the puddy hair, has a huge bag and is quiet enough to use in the evening without disturbing the neighbours downstairs, so that covers pretty much everything I need.
My other vac is a Dyson DC07 Animal. This sees very little use nowadays, mainly because I don't like having to empty a canister full of pet hair. In time I'll give it a full clean and rebuild, then pass it along to my mother as a replacement for the ageing DC04 she keeps upstairs. Then I SUPPOSE I'll have to find something else to take its place... nothing worse than having to go out and buy a new vac yet again! |

... I've changed my daily drivers just a little bit. I no longer have the Kent: it's been replaced by an Electrolux UK PowerSystem Z1720. As for the others, I still have them but except for the Windsor I don't use them as daily drivers any more but instead I bring them out every so often in a kind of rotation (just to keep 'em all in good working order!).
By the way, I also use my new Bosch GL-30 cylinder (model BSGL3180GB/03) a lot too -- so I suppose you could call it one of my daily drivers too.

I have a lot of dog hair and lets face it, out in the country there's a lot of dirt too so I just bought a new 4qt water pan for the e-2. It's a generic that I bought from Essco for under $35.00
