Thats a fab machine you've got their, contratulations. I own 2 Miele S5's - and BOL S5210 and the mid-range S5281 Solution (now TOL since we don't have the Revlution anymore). I'm considering getting an S7 after Christmas. I agree that in terms of the combination of quality and performance, you can't beat a Miele. I love everything about them - how quiet they are, easy to use, great performance. They don't seem very popular here as I don't know many people who own them. One thing though, I don't like the new HyClean bags at all. They don't seem to unfold properly like the old ones did, so they don't fill up as much as the old style - anybody else had this problem? |

All companies publish their ratings of their machines at the motor. Some will also post multiple ratings at different parts of the machine, like at the hose coupling or at the end of the hose, but those are more common in the central vac industry. Any yes, the Miele "Vortex" motors with their nine-bladed tapered fan generate 140 CFM and 111" of waterlift. Much smaller and more powerful than the two-stage Lamb and two-stage Miele motor used in the past. |

I'm thinking more about finding some vintage 2 speed upright, or even a 2 speed Oreck. (gasp!) |

This powerhead is supposed to be released here in the North American market soon. It looks somewhat similar to the discontinued SEB 224. The 228 is meant to take a spot between the currently available SEB 217 and 236. It is larger in size and more agressive than the 217. It also has a six position height adjustment, as well as a quick release. |
