This is the first Hoover Concept One I've ever owned! Sad isn't it? Other than a 30 second use of David's Concept Two back in March, I've never used one either! So I was thrilled to get this one. It's been completely restored inside and out including bearing lubrication and agitator rebuild. It's quite fun!

The tool set is missing most of it's tools so the gray ones are borrowed from the Dial-A-Matic for photo purposes.

I just have a soft spot in my heart for BOL machines. The colors on this one appeal to me too! Don't know why.....

Nameplate...

It does have the chrome brushroll, but in this picture it looks black. 4.1 amps!! Gotta love effective cleaning at low amperage draw! Less power consumption than a Convertible, yet sooooo much more effective at cleaning up.

Very nice. The Concept is my favorite Hoover... it was the first member of my collection and I don't use it nearly enough. Mine is power drive, though yours looks not to be. Some people prefer them non propelled, but I like them. Looks like a base model (but you already stated that!), I don't see a cord winder or headlight. Still has the two speed motor though... I've never used the low speed on mine! The front wheels sure look strange! I coudn't even find them at first! I'm surprised to see "tilt forward to adjust height"... usually that isn't necessary on a non-propelled Hoover... they get tipped back instead of forward. How nice that you have some of the attachments... mine didn't come with any! How's the suction at the end of the hose? Don't you just love the dual handle release pedals? Yours looks to be in great shape cosmetically... probably partly due to it not being a power drive model!

Enjoy your quadraflex agitation :o)

good find

these are great cleaners. I do like the non power drive models better, thay are easer to work on than the power drive models. to bad I tend to get more P.D. models in for service in my vac shop than the non P.D. ones. if you ever need parts I have lots of them for all brands of vacuums. just call me.

Yes, that's the original bag. Kind of odd since it's all just a solid color, but that's BOL for you....

Well that is one nice find tristar. I love the concepts and I am itching to get my hands on one of my grandfathers. powerdrive- selectors in the handle and all.

argh! they are sweet vacuums and do a great job. I like how they sound too.

I used to have a mint condition Concept U-4201
I got at an auction for $2. I loved it and when thinning out I sold it to an elderly lady, at least it went to someone who wouldnt abuse it, I have been looking for another for the past 4 years now.

Love the way the way Hoover Concept vacuumed and groomed carpet. Was really disappointed with the suction at the
end of the hose. Back to Kirby one more time!

Yeah, ya have to steer. :-)

Thanks for posting the catalog page, Eric.

I have the U3101-9, thanks to Pete, and love it. Suction's not the high point with these machines - it's the carpet beating does the job and leaves nice grooming tracks on the right pile. Anything self-propelled spins my crank.
