How do everyone.

just thought i'd post a few piccies from the Saturday afternoon, a couple of weekends ago, that me and my other half (Turbomaster1984) spent over at James' (Kirbymodel2c) place.

Both me and rob had a fantastic time there and were bowled over by the superb collection of Kirby cleaners James possesses, as well as many other bits and pieces which combine to form a superb history of the brand.

Before being let loose on the kirby's though, we headed out to the garage to see the machines that resided in there.

Now you will all have to bear with me, as i am still learning about cleaner histories so i may be inaccurate in some of my statements.

Here goes.......

first off an Electrolus Z350E, still in its original box and in pristine condition.

I am sure that James will fill in some of the histories of the cleaners, so any questions ask away!

(there you are James - dumped you right in it.....tee,heee,hee).

A great looking Z302 from electrolux...

Indeed they are a nice turbopower and turbolite.

Never touched a Turbolite before that day and they are indeed very light!

Next up is the U4362 softbag Turbomaster.
Again, had never seen one of these in the flesh before that day - again a very light machine.
Didnt feel that much heavier than the Turbolite to be honest...

as a brief aside...

they only made two versions of the Turbopower1000, the other being the U2812, of which rob and me own an example.

This machine boasts sparkly blue colouring - again, anyone an idea of the official title?

Just before we plug and play......

I am sorry, but i can't for the life of me remember what this cleaner was/is. I am sure that someone will be able to help me here.

Also note the Electrolux 612 in the background....

The softbag Turbomaster U4362 - really an incredibly light cleaner, when compared to its hardbag counterparts in the turbomaster lineup....

Me and Rob hope to have our own softbag machine, having bought one off ebay nearly TWO SODDING MONTHS AGO, and still not having receieved it!

Getting rather miffed now - cant help feeling we are being seriously messed around! rant over.

I think this one is a 505. Again it is in superb condition and, along with all James' other cleaners, is very well cared for...

A bit more guess-work...

Ok with the one in the foreground, thanks to the name being obviously on show - Kirby heritage II.

The one in the background - hmmmmmmmmmm - Kirby Tradition?

Post# 64298 , Reply# 45   3/29/2009 at 12:22 (5,507 days old) by turbopowerpaul (UK)

Whichever one it is, the blue one is my fave of the day. A wonderful shade.

Post# 64300 , Reply# 46   3/29/2009 at 12:26 (5,507 days old) by turbopowerpaul (UK)

Well, thats all folks.

Apologies to james for it taking so long for me to finish this thread - busy, busy, busy and just not enough hours in the day to do everything i need to.

Thanks to James (from myself and Rob) also for providing a great afternoon. Was great to meet up again and to be able to see your superb collection.
Much appreciated.

Thanks again to James for holding onto the Hoover U2604 turbopower autoflex, which filled a gap in mine and rob's collection of Turbo's.
only needed a new belt and a very light polish and good as new.
we are both really pleased with it.

ta ta for now.
regards
paul

Great pics, thanks for posting them.
I think that little red vacuum is a Dirt Devil Broomy iirc. Must have been good sellers cause I see them all the time at thrift stores etc. but I've never taken one

Your near last pic of the blue Tradition and that other is a Heritage II Legend.. don't forget the legend LOL
It's my favorite Kirby of all for actually usage. It differs from the previous Heritage by having a smaller front nozzle and wider rear wheels making it much more stable and easier to manouver. Funny how people like different things.. I never liked the blue Tradition. Always felt like you were pushing around a blue whale but the Tradition was the first Kirby I ever owned so I'll keep it.

James,

Thanks for a great day. It was just fab especially being able to aquaint myself with a few more Kirbys.

Love them all and will be keeping an eye out for a few more to add to the collection, doubt Paul will be as enthusiastic as that but Im sure to be able to slip a few in.

Been pining after the Sentria since, god they cant half groom! They do a fabulous job.

If only though it makes my life harder, was bad enough trying to convince Mother dearest to invest in a Sebo, I think she needs a Kirby instaed lol,

Pete,

Yes Dirt Devil Broomy.

What a hoot they are!

I dont yet know what my favourite Kirby actually is, I know what you mean about the smaller head on the Heritage 2, I prefer that to my Heritage.

but then the Heritage was my first and I do love it dearly.

Hi James.

Dont worry - no 'talking to death' occurred at all.

Its all information and i relish learning it all - being washer/dryer/dishwasher mad, there needs to be a bit more vac info to balance everything out.

Quite pleased with the piccies - not a bad effort, even if i do say so myself! tee hee hee. nowt to do with the taker though - all the machine. really useful to have decent shote for my Appliance Archive.

As I know little about the U4334 and its ilk, cant wait for you to show it off to us.

No - unfortunately Turbomaster has still not turned up! Just days short of two months since purchase! Grrrrrrrr!! nough said on that one.

ta ta for now and thanks again for the afternoon. One day, myself and Rob hope to be able to return the favour.

Chers
paul
