I don't know what happened to this paint behind my back for sure ? But it was bad. I sanded it all off and repainted it with a different kind of paint and it was better. She is not perfect but 99% better, either way it is better than it was when it came to me almost paintless. It had been in a flooded basement or something for a long time, I think because not only was the paint off it was full of nasty dried mud and such. this is the u4001

My newest baby!!!

I found this poor thing in the TFA store in St.Louis when I visited Rick Asquith a few months ago. Rick, John Pease, Marty Kaplan, and Patrick Dawson alwas go thrifting whenever I am in town. I have looked this machine over many times for the past year or so and decided this time it was going home with me. It had an UGLY white replacment hood on it and the base was in need of a touch up. I went to the store and mached the Fawn pink color pretty well. The bumper is darkened a little bit from many years of scuffing, so it is a little darker than it is supposed to be. The light is a little bit off so it looks like the color is way to bright but it's not. I love this machine!!!This is the Convertible 67
1960-62. It makes me SICK about the bag. If any of you have a 67 bag (even if it's in bad shape) I would love to buy it from you. Phillip

I can't explain why the paint is still smeared a little on the U4001 after pic. It just didn't want to hold the paint. I might have to take a spare bases from something else and paint it for the U4001 ? I think it was to damaged but it's acceptable now.

anyhow here is the last picture of my 67. I will have more later, when I get a free moment to paint more.
p.s please forgive my messy work shop
