Our Hoover Constellation vacuum cleaners. They look like atomic-age Easter eggs! (I say "ours" because the orange one is Arlee's -- he found it in a Goodwill for $7.99!!)

Are those Hoovers that 'hover' on a cushion of air from the exhaust?
They came out around the same time as the Hovercraft, if I remember (c.1969?)
We were led to believe we'd all be riding around on hover-scooters by the year 2000!

I think the Constellation came out sometime in the early to mid 50s. I have a Model 86, which I think was introduced in 1958.

On the constellations with the hose connection on the top....does it swivel 360 degrees or is it fixed?
