Hello all. I was hoping any Hoover Model 700 owners could do me a favor here. I am looking for a place to buy a right side handle attachment screw for a Hoover Model 700 (the side opposite the one with the handle locking mechanism).
Alternatively, if it cannot be bought, could someone remove their screw and take a photo of it (preferably with a ruler) so I can see what kind of screw it takes? I have thousands of odds and ends screws but I don't want to break the machine by using the wrong size or type. Thanks! |

Hello Huskyvacs and All,
I just want to make sure we are talking about the same small screw on the Hoover 700 yoke/fork so here are two pictures. Please let me know. I should have some extra one. Thank you for looking, Pete |

That would be much appreciated, I only need one, but if you really don't need both I can take both off your hands. Might help anyway just in case the one on the other side is bad (I haven't checked) since i bought it with just the one screw attached, who knows how long it's been bounced around like that. thank you!

Hello Huskyvacs and All,
I have 2 of the small screw one is really good and the other is not as good. Don't let the screw that you have on the locking side bottom out in the groove as that can make it drag. The screw points need to be in the groove so the bail/yoke/fork will not come off but without any drag. You can see in the pictures what I mean. You can have the 2 screws. I guess you can look up my profile to get my email address and let me know where to send them. I have an interesting Hoover 700 that I was going to take apart but I looked at the serial number on the base and it is 7000698 but after seeing that number I decided trashing it was not an option. Too bad it was not 7000700 LOL. Thank you for looking, Pete |

Check link, if anyone wants to order some brand new. Measuring and ordering the right thread is up to you... But these are called extended tip set-screws.
