Hi All:
The Vacuum Cleaner Museum is having a HUGE sale. We are cleaning out about 400 vacuums, most of which are duplicates of machines already in the Museum. Way too many to list. Everything from 1910's Hoovers 1980's Kirbys. Make me a reasonable offer. No shipping. The sale is September 21, 22, and 23, 2017. At the Vacuum Cleaner Museum, #3 Industrial Drive, St. James, MO, 65559 Some examples: 1936 Kirby Model 1C Hoover Convertible model 65 Bison model 1000 Air-Way with Eureka-built Power Nozzle Rexair model A Air-Way Chief, Super Chief, and Zephyr as well as DirtMasteR Compact model 1 Eureka model 1 and HUNDREDS more. There are also TONS of vintage repair parts. Take a look at the photos I've posted of the Vacuum Museum contents, and MAKE ME A REASONABLE OFFER. I need to clear out the two store rooms to make room for other things. I have until the end of September. First Come, First Served. The Vacuum Museum is NOT closing, we are simply consolidating the collection to what is in the Museum itself. The store rooms are overflowing with duplicates. |

I used to own a vac shop and was a Fantom Sales and Service Center.
I have a Fantom Thunder, one of the very last new Thunders sold by Fantom before they left the business. I'm the only person who has used it. It's for sale at the Vacuum Palooza, along with the Fantom Fury as well as the Dyson-designed Capture Carpet Shampooer called the Dry Tech. |

All are for sale for REASONABLE offers. I hate eBay, but what doesn't sell has to go to eBay, as I have a limited time to reduce what's in the store rooms.
The Kirby Heritage 1 has the cloth shake out bag. It's been used (by me) ONCE. Otherwise it's brand new. Same goes with the Classic III (first edition). |

Have sold well over 150 vacuums already. Some were sold to be restored (mostly the very oldest models). Some were sold for their original cloth bags, hoses, etc.
Some were sold right off the display shelves in the Museum (don't worry, there are plenty more to take their place). I do hope the new owners of the Hospital Elux G, the Sunbeam Dual Deluxe, the first Kenmores with Power-Mates, the pink Lady Kenmore KenKart, Apex, Vectrons, Hoover Convertibles, etc. will post their pictures at some point. Two more days to go - Saturday already has a confirmed 15 people coming. Going to be a busy day. |

I got 4 vintage uprights that I am thrilled about. One is surprise birthday present for my partner and two were vacuums I thought I would never have again as I owned similar models in the past.
Since I flew in, the vacuums are being transported to Wisconsin with friends and will be shipped to me shortly. When they have arrived and are spiffed up to my specifications, I will post pics. The one I got for my partner is truly a, "holy grail", vacuum and it will be several weeks before I post pics of that since the birthday is still a month away. Many thanks to Tom, Donnie and Bob for providing two fun filled days! We have several meals together with the Wisconsin folks, (Duane and Tania), and left on great high. While there, we met some wonderful guests visiting the museum and Tania and I acted as tour guides until Tom was available. It was a bit busy on Thursday with us there and guests visiting. If you think you can make it, you are sure to find great items to add to your collections. Thanks again Tom! Charlie W. |

The sale was awesome. I sold approximately 150 vacuums. I'm sure a large number will turn up on eBay at some point as they were purchased as investments - to be restored and resold. Look for Delco upright, Lincoln, Packard, Eureka Challenger, Royal Purifier, etc. as well as new bags for Hoover 700's and satin Hoover 541 bags.
It was great seeing new friends as well as old friends. The Museum now has more open floor space to be able to get the 50 to 60 people on tour busses through on tours and now everyone can hear me speak. It was a great time. |

I have no idea how much UPS would charge to ship the two boxes. One (as seen in the photo) contains the cleaner and attachments. One (not shown) contains the electric hose and power nozzle. I figure that, together, the weight is about fifty pounds, and it would be coming from zip code 65401. As a GUESS, it would likely cost about $80 to ship the two boxes - that's based upon shipping two boxes of approximately the same weight (Kenmore Vacuums) to California a few weeks ago. But again, it's just a GUESS.

Sorry to hear about the Duo-Power. Saw it in one of the pictures so naturally thought it was a sale item: because of its provenance, I can certainly understand why it's not available, though! Anyway, the only person I can think of who I might be able to get the Eureka from would be Bill Kirby. If I'm not mistaken, he's not too far away from where the Museum is, and as you might recall he comes to the get-togethers at Luke Gebhart's place from time to time. Evan Rogers (I think that's his name?) might be a possibility too.
(Gosh, I was even thinking about swinging by when I go to Knoxville on my vacation next year. But even that's about 8 hrs away from the Museum -- and I don't even know if you could hold on to the machine that long anyway.)
But, I'm getting somewhat ahead of myself. Let me think about what would be a reasonable offer and then I'll PM you later on. Thanks again, Tom -- and apologies for the diatribe!
Bill W. |
