In December my good friend and fellow collector Heinrich Called me up to say he was driving down for vacation and had something for me.

Unfortunately Time was not on our side, he was passing through my town and I was insanely busy with project that had to be completed we managed to get a short while to chat. It was truly nice to meet him and chat in person rather than via messaging.
This was the gift he brought me.

I did not know these were sold in SA, Their is no evidence in any literature that it was, This may have been a sample that was brought in, I have never seen another one.

It is 220v, and runs well, just needing some tlc. The funny thing is that despite most homes here been completely or more than 70% hard flooring Hoover SA only just launched a new version of it. All three of my newer versions have all been imported, one from Dubai in 220v and the other two , one in pic are 110v and need transformers to run.

I cant wait to take it apart to see how it works , give it some tlc and put in back together again like new

Here is the rating plate, As you can see it was made in North Canton Factory. Most of the Hoovers vacuums sold in SA from around this time were sourced from the UK or manufactured locally

It was the beginning of it all as far as floor washers/scrubbers, Floormates, etc go.

It was deemed, "HOOVER'S Edsal".  IO KNOW that's not correctly spelled,  but, I'm in a hurry. right outthe door.

Enjoy your very nice gift from a great friend.

I have both the blue AND yellow ones.  They were on my "list".

 John
