Forgive this indulgence.
We all know Dyson invented his first cyclonic machine by putting a cardboard cyclone on a Hoover Junior.
How easy would it be to retrofit a Turbopower or Junior to be bagless?
I've had two ideas:
1) fix a permabag 2 - the h18 fill hole should be the same size as the h4
2) use tubing to fix the output from the bellows into the input of a Dyson cyclone - I'm thinking a handheld due to the circular input. Whether the output would be enough to work the cyclone, I'm not sure.....
It's just out of curiosity really!

I have actually done similar thing some time ago. It worked quite nicely, but airflow suffered noticeably.

Was surprised your homemade bagless system worked as well as it did----Mr. Dyson watch out!!You may have a competitor here!Sounds like the bearings in that motor are about to go-Older direct air Vorwerk motor?

I did a quick experiment today with a Hoover Turbopower Junior and a cyclone from a DC34. I fixed the input of the cyclone to the output from the Bag Fill Tube - which was almost an exact fit! Some tape, and it was ready to go.

Switched on, put down a mini bag of filth.. and started vacuuming!

It worked - the cyclone filled with the dirt, and nothing flew out of the end of the cyclone. BUT.... the cyclone didnt spin as well, with dirt smeared and stuck all over the drum. There was a pressure build up aswell, and the tape holding the drum on swelled up and almost burst. Maybe a DC34 drum was too small to cope with the large air flow from the Junior, but the other Dyson cyclones have squarer inlets, meaning a much more complex adapter would be needed.

Vorwerk

It is (or was) Vorwerk with the dirty fan design. Airflow in it was surprisingly good for a 250 watt motor. Bearing was bad and it eventually got so bad that it would have needed the new one.
So sadly it is gone now.
I am very tempted to buy Vorwerk kobold 122 with the ET 340 powerhead. Those are well designed/built vacuums.
