While later-issue XXXs are a dime a dozen on eBay, the early ones rarely show up. Here is the very first version, in very good condition overall. It wouldn't take much to make it into a real beauty.

 

Note the three different rug nozzles! The earliest one is on the wand; then the 0ne that came out in 1947, then the newest one next to it. Each one was a distinct improvement on the previous one.

That is indeed one of the more rare models, but I have a question for you. I only have one pre-war example, (39 model I believe), but the motor on mine sounds a LOT smoother and quieter than the one in the listing. Did you watch the video of it running? What are your thoughts on it? Thanks!

look again, it isn't the first because the rear is chromed steel instead of aluminum..

That version uses the flat filter instead of the 'basket' filter, so my guess is it's around a 1940 version. I watched the video, it sounds like one or more of the three rubber motor mountings has dried out and broken.
