Donald got home this afternoon from Greenfield Ohio with the last load. Its been a long hard road from the first trip in March!!! First I want to thank my good friend Mike Hays . without whos generosity and trust in me, this project would have never happened. I feel as if I inherited the Hope Diamond!Really. there are things in this collection you just never see anymore. things like General Electrics first mixer. the first Kitchen Aid for the home. 1919. one of the first Hobart commercials. that I am going to use at the Wash In in August, I can't wait for everyone to see it.a Westinghouse mixer I have looked for for many years with Hall China bowls from 1936. then the vacuums, hopefully I can get a new camera soon and post some pictures.there are many rare specimens, A Regina hand pumper. a couple of non electrics., one a Vacuette, on up thru the 70s and some newer stuff. it will probably take a couple of years to sort thru all this but I cant wait for winter to get started....I try not to do anything more than breathe when its as hot as it is now. I have been bringing in vacuums one by one. cleaning and waxing them and putting them back on the shelves.im going to start on Connstellations and Convertibles first I think.I hope anyone who is interested in seeing this stuff will come for a visit. also. I'm going to thin out the more modern stuff. there are some newer uprights here such as a Sanyo. a Windtunnell a Dirt Devil a Simplicity etc that I'm not going to keep. so if you are interested come see me. I'm not going to try to ship anything except for one or two things, so COME TO Mocksville. I'm just 2 miles off interstate 40 between Statesville and Winston Salem!//Mike. I can never repay you. so I will say again thanks, the old friends I met in 94 and 95 have proven to be wonderful lifetime friends.I wish all of you could have experienced our old conventions.Nothing has ever been like them and they truly are some of my very best memories!
