Hey everyone, I'm wondering if anyone has seen these vacuums and if so, what are your thoughts? Apparently they are supposed to be made the same way as the older aerus vacuums, I'm wondering if this company is selling refurbished models or if they are just making them the same way Aerus did. Here are links for two different models.

Those are rebadged vacuums of the original. Not sure if they are New or reconditioned. I have seen them in the catalogues I get for janitorial supplies. I can't attest to the quality as I haven't bought any of their products.

Experience has taught me thru trial and error that the rebranded usually isn't as good as the original and cost just as much to buy replacement parts. And some times harder to get.

Those are brand new vacuums from Perfect Products using Ametek motors.
Obviously not made in the U.S.
Many parts interchange with the old Electrolux models.

Look at this exploded diagram of the Perfect C101 metal canister:

I have used them before, COMPLETE copy of the older lux machines! Stupid powerful and not loud. Surprisingly it cleans really really well.

metal canister

The metal canister that they make sounds really good, I may get one. I wonder if it uses the same motor as the Aerus classic or if it's a different motor. I'm not sure what motors aerus uses, if it's the same motor, then there would be no point in getting it since I already have an aerus classic.

I have the Perfect plastic bodied canister. VERY strong suction (105 inches of lift), and a good quality machine. No automatic shut off. HEPA bags. Filters very well, and maintains suction a long time (due to the synthetic hepa bags). I don't think I would pay $799 for it, that seems like more than its worth (to me). I got mine at wholesale from a friend who has a vac shop.

bought it

I went ahead and ordered the metal one, the place I got it from gave me a bit of a discount on it. Based on what I've read, I'm thinking it uses different motors than the current line of aerus vacuums. On Amazon, the reviews are extreme, the people who gave it bad reviews said it was awful, but those who gave it good reviews said it was excellent. Definitely looking forward to getting it though, it sounds like it will use the same bags as my Aerus classic.

So is the reverse true? Can you use a Lux bag in a Perfect vacuum, or is the air flow too strong for the paper?

Lux bags in a perfect vacuum

will explode the suction is way to strong for them. I tried it with my perfect because I was out of perfect bags and they exploded..

perfect vacuum is awesome

Got it today, it's awesome, a real beast. I will post a review of it like I did for the Prima after a bit more time with it, but if anyone is looking for a new power team canister, I would definitely consider this one.

It's nice that they've recreated these classic machines. I'm wondering why the automatic control is missing.
Part of the comfort of using an Electrolux canister is knowing that it would automatically shut off when the bag was full. Now, it's just like most other vacs, apparently with a much stronger motor?

I would think that they were trying to keep costs down for their knock off machine....adding the parts/labour required for automatic control would increase the cost.

Or maybe too? I could really be off on this, making it look totally Lux with that part? Or too much to produce that for them from scratch?

I spotted an online ad for these a while back and thought it was a cool concept, kind of like Year One making every part necessary to build a brand new 1969 Camaro from scratch. While It's great to know somebody's keeping that metal canister tradition alive, I don't think I'll be lining up to buy one anytime soon, given the ready availability of good, used Electrolux metal canisters for far less. One day maybe, but for now my 1205 and Super J both still have a whole lot of life left in them.

The Perfect vacuums not having the Automatic Control has nothing to do with labor or parts costs savings. Legally, Perfect Products cannot use the Automatic Control because Aerus Electrolux still uses it on the 90th Anniversary Legacy, & would obviously renew patents on it. The Automatic Control is one signature feature that identifies a Aerus or Electrolux vacuum, as well as the 4 ply bags previously used. There's NO WAY that Joe Urso would ever give up the patent for it, even if they stopped using it. And if Perfect Products DID start using the Automatic Control, Aerus Electrolux would sue the pants off of them.

Also, in terms of a performance & reliability viewpoint, it's well known that after 10 to 15 years, with average care & usage in the average household, the Automatic Control is prone to failure due to the plastic tubes clogging with fine dust. Removing the Automatic Control is one less thing to break & cause the vacuum to require servicing down the road. Also, since the Perfect C101 comes standard with HEPA Cloth bags, & the Perfect C103 can use them if desired, the improved performance using the HEPA Cloth bags means less reliance on the Automatic Control feature in Electrolux & Aerus vacuums to ensure constant suction/airflow.

perfect vacuum

I've had mine now for about a month, love it. The fact that it doesn't have the automatic shut off when the bag is full does not bother me, I do check my bags frequently and I doubt they would overfill. Only issue I have had is the suction relief valve on the hose, if you tilt the hose sideways, it will slide open, but a piece of tape solved that problem easily. It's really quite powerful. I would love to have some of the older Electrolux models, but I am a bit hesitant to buy those off of a site such as ebay. You just never know what kind of use they have had or what you will find when you get it.

About Lux/Perfect C Bags

I've always thought that perfect vacuum cloth bags were the only way to get those type of bags for a lux. But aren't these cloth bags as well in this link? I can't tell but they sure look like it

Yes, those are indeed HEPA Cloth bags. The key to knowing that they are is they refer to them as a "synthetic" bag, which is another way of describing cloth material. I would bet they developed their own cloth bag to keep their customers happy, since they also sell the Perfect canisters. I intend on buying some soon & trying them out.
