I couldn't leave well enough alone and decided to tear into another vacuum before the summer is over and we head back to the Big City. The vacuum is the standard Eureka/Sanitaire dirty fan layout with the self propelled feature. This vintage and model sees a lot of plastic, even the on/off foot switch atop the cover. However the bottom plate and brushroll are glorious chrome plated metal as god intended. It's been some time but it seems i picked this one up at a thrift store, probably on a half off day, so the price was no doubt right. A quick inspection and test revealed an operational unit with burned out light bulb, a broken belt, and the mandatory F & G bag of cement needing a replacement. Further inspection showed a rarely used vac that would not need a full tear down, but rather only a partial opening up...hallelujah! |

We I finally had time to finish my last vac of the summer season, and it's inside with the rest of the clean vacs. I am leaving the new belt off until I either sell it or start to use it regularly. It looks/runs great and smells like it should. I still need the light bulb, does anybody off hand know the type/number for Eureka/Sanitaire? |
