So my grandparents had a yellow superbroom that looks a bit like this except it's yellow

Have you checked Amazon.com? There's a Eureka one with a motorised brush roll. You'd be better off with that one. I had a few Electrolux branded super brooms in the 1990s; they're dreadful at pick up and the small wheels dig badly in thick pile carpet.
