This particular model that you are speaking about I believe was ONLY a K-Mart exclusive in the mid 1980's, I'd like to say around 1985 or so. ..
It was part of a multi-line line-up with this being the BOL version, all of them in the same color format, mint green hood, white base, darker green trim, horizontally striped bags that changed patterns the higher up you bought etc, etc. There was another model like this one with a headlamp ( I had this one at one opint), then a full (over-base) hood version "Custom-Convertible" like the U4003-05-07 etc. There were a few Spirit canister models made too, in a good, better, best format also. Kmart sold TONS of these convertibles, so keep an eye out. They are still out there to be had. And, of course, Ebay... Chad |

The MOL model, it is the mint hood with headlamp.you can always tell a Kmart CONVERTIBLE by those stripped bags! They clean as well as they look, especially since I upgraded to Type A bags in my Mint green model! So far I have this style of Convertible in Mint, sky blue, and Brown! As Jackie Kennedy once said, 'I'll take one in every color!' |

Just as I loved Montgomery Ward! There was a BIG Kmart (that was the actual name, big K!) Right down the main road my street branches off of! I loved the place, I'm sure my Mint green example came from it! It was such a shame when it closed down back in late 2012, they were down to eliminating stock and selling the store fixtures. I'm betting the WAL-MART up the street finally lead my beloved Kmart to it's fate. Although they've both been there forever!

Chad, this 4335 was the entry level/BOL Kmart model from 82-84ish before they went to the 4393 which is pretty much this model only with a headlight, the next one up was the 4337 - ranger hood, C Bag - that became the 4395 which changed hoods and became an A bag, followed by the 4339 2 speed square handle A bag model that became the 4397 with the only change being it got a Power Surge motor
