Hi All,

I was using my Dual Sanitronic this morning and when I attached the hose, the button on the speed switch cracked off, the vacuum reduced speed, and started to smoke. I assume that is because the switch is malfunctioning now that it's broken, so I ordered a new one. What is entailed in swapping the old one out for the new one I ordered? Thanks!

Just remove the one screw holding the switch and take a paper clip and push it in the tab where the colored wires are plugged in to release the wires without damaging the light coat of solder on the wire ends and then just push the color wires into the correct color coded spaces, I usually use a needle nose plier to do that.

Ryan,

A replacement speed switch is part no. 134365 if you need one, but due to the age of your machine you may have to hunt high and low for it.

I belive that the (speed selector switch - Dual button) part number 134365 is still available thru Kirby. I know I've ordered safety switch parts for my 509 and 510 thru Kirby. Another source, some of the older Kirby dealers may still have these switches sitting on the shelf.
