My Kirby G6 is getting some hard use lately as I'm moving out of the apartment I've lived in for the past 10 years. As I was winding up the cord a little while ago, I noticed a rather large scuff on the rubber boot at the bottom of the cloth bag where it attaches to the emptor. On closer examination, I saw that it is worn through.
From an aesthetic stand point, it's ugly, but from a functional standpoint, it seems to be working okay. Still sucks like crazy. I'm going to put some black electricians' tape over it to help seal it up, but is it really hurting anything? Should I be prepared to replace the outer bag. They seem to run about $40-$45 on eBay. While that certainly won't break the bank, it's still a lot of money, especially considering how much I don't have invested in this machine. It is, after all, one of my best dumpster finds ever. |
