Well, two days ago I got a hoover "preferred" for $20 from a guy who was going to sell it on cragslist. I put a new bag and belt in it, and now it works great! It was missing the dusting brush, but today I got a hoover turbopower (elite motor), with a dusting brush, so now the preferred has a dusting brush. I think $20 was pricy for an elite style vacuum, but I guess it's ok, because I love the elite series of vacuums. I also cleaned the filter on the turbopower, and put it on my "caddy vac" style hoover, and took one of the turbopower's edge groomers and put it on my windtunnel, because it was missing that part. The turbopower was from my trusted vacuum store's trash. After the preferred, I went to a school sale, and saw a eureka the boss smart vac for $25. I wasn't interested at first, but about an hour later, they lowered the price to $5! Apparently, the lady thought the belt made some noise because she didn't put it on right. Well, I bought it for $5. It needed a cleaning, but it works fairly well, and the brushroll is a little loud, but I don't think it is anything major. The brush turns fine on it's own. It even included the manual, two bags and all of the attachments, including the power paw! Although, One thing I can't figure out is how to keep the switch for "bare floor" on the bare floor setting. I can't get it to work. The hose has some tape, but for a complete vacuum for $5, it's a good deal. Any imput on the brushroll switch? I also got a hoover concept one with powerdrive from a goodwill today. It works really well, and it just needs a light bulb and a cleaning. I have the attachment converter for the concept that I got with a hoover dimension canister from a sale quite a while ago. Based on the sticker, it was made in 1990, so it's one of the later concepts? It is in decent condition, but not even close to new. I paid $32, which was more than i wanted to pay, but the goodwill manager knows that these are somewhat valuable. What do you guys think? Will post pictures soon. (Also will show the new celebrity and constellation) By the way, I put new bulbs in my 11 amp fantom that I got from a vacuum shop and the lights still work!!
