So I was having a look at Ebay this morning and came across this. It is a Kent branded industrial vacuum. The logo on the machine looks like the Swedish Electrolux logo and the seller mentions that it is made in Sweden. The pictures show that the brushroll is VG1. The listing is almost up, but this looks like it would be a beast of a machine! Here are a few of the sellers photos.

Yes

Kent makes Carpet Shampooers. Like the Kent Express. This is a very nice find indeed. But it looks too boxy to me. Its only my 2 cents

this vac is sold under different brand names: Pullman-Holt, Nilfisk-Advance, Pacific something or other, etc. Commercial vacs in home settings is an interesting angle to me, Sanitaires, Guardsman's & many others seem to be a good fit for many homeowners. Like restaurant stoves & refrigerators these vacs could be the next chic alternative for this 'style conscious & brand aware' generation.

I started to say something stupid, but caught myself. It appears to take after some of the Eureka heritage, the VG1 as well as the bag looks alot like the Eureka Princess canister bags.

In the UK

Yes, they have been here since the 1970's and they weigh a tonne. They are great machines but were always too expensive and too bulky to be popular. The Numatic Henry beat off all the commercial competition on it's size and price.

Electrolux Professional.

What a name game it is. Here is what an Electrolux Professional looks like in the States. This is based on the Sanitaire Duralite, which I believe was based on the Eureka Ultra. I haven't seen another vacuum in the states with the Electrolux professional name on it.

A suction-only version is being sold by Electrolux's Sanitaire Division in North America now.

In the janitorial field we refer to these as "hatbox" vacuums. We use them where noise is a factor.
