Cool, they are called the turbo masters over here.

what it would be like to swap the body on the turbomaster Electronic see how it would do wiht the innovation motor in it and change the cord on it

I am not sure I am following you on swapping the body over, because unless there is something radically different on the Innovation, I would have expected it to perform exactly the same as our Turbomaster. Our UK version of the Innovation performed exactly the same as the hardbag alternative, indeed with the exception of a bag-full indicator lamp, I can think of no other difference between the softbag cleaner and the standard hardbag model.

I think the reason the Turbomaster Softbag was so very unpopular in the UK was because it was on sale at a time where almost all uprights were of a hard-bag design, be it clean-fan or dirty-fan. What few softbag cleaners there were served only to fill two sectors of the market: the budget customer, and those who wanted something lightweight & basic. The Turbomaster fulfilled neither request, as it was not inexpensive to purchase, and it was physically heavy & loaded with features. From what I can ascertain of the USA market, your choice of softbag cleaners has always been vast for many a year, giving rise to a place for a model such at the Innovation. Over here it was completely surplus to requirement.

There are screws on the bottom that you remove to take the hood off, just remember which ones you took from where... I got the same one a few year ago from C/L for 10 bucks and it's a cool machine... the handle release pedal is broken on mine, how is yours? I got the original attachments and even the original sales receipt from JC Pennys, it was really cool...

Enjoy it

There are two screws towards the rear and two at the front. The front ones are only accessible once the sole plate and roller are removed. I am still none the wiser about putting a hardbag to it. I'm intrigued.

A nice Hoover from England that ended up as a Big Lots close out in US about the early 90s.I think I have an extra att set if interested.Caution--the handle has a couple of areas that can be Fragile!(Or FraGilLee if you just saw the Christmas movie.
