I recetly bought a 66. I was away judging a huge talent "scholarship" competition. I arrived home last pm to find a box on my porch. In it was a BEAUTIFUL 66 from Kenny Loveland! Kenny!!! wow, you pack things like our Rick B. in CA It could go on the space shuttle. It is beautiful. I just opened it, assembled it and, of course tried id out. It has a BEAUTIFUL "hum" to it. It maust have been well taken care of, as, there are lots of service dates on the bottom. It's true: if you service them.................. I have another 66 in the basement, no bag, white replacement hood, etc. But, I now have the complete 60s lineup. And, to have a piece from Kenny's collection is wonderful. I'll post pics soon. thanks, again, Kenny. It's a great addition to my collection. I now have the entire 50s genre, and the 65 to 70 complete. YAY! |

John, I’m glad you like the 66. Chad and I found the 66 at an Estate Sale in Leawood, Kansas. The 66 was located in the garage along with a portable (orange and brown). The portable had a long black replacement cord on it. Chad went into the basement and I stayed with the 66 in the garage. Chad said he found a Hoover Quickbroom or upright Handivac in the basement and then told me “he thought I wouldn’t be interested in that”. The owner of the house must have been a Hoover fan. The 66 was full of bird seed and some leaked out into Chad’s trunk in his Honda. The 66 also had an ugly white and green replacement bag on it similar to a Eureka. I purchased another bag off of eBay for the 66 from a different model. The color matched perfectly. So there you have it. The story behind the 66. Oh, and I bought some bathroom towels at the same Estate Sale. This post was last edited 11/28/2012 at 13:35 |
