I could be way off here but that looks like an old kirby hose fitted for this?

Alex - DO you know the full model number for your vacuum? It might start with a "V", or simply say "C- ". Thanks.  John

Generic hose blank

It's not a Kirby hose it is an old generic hose blank sold through vacuum supply companies back when everyone still used woven style hoses. I have seen these many times and actually know a guy who still has a few in stock.

If you can't rebuilt it, I wonder if you could fit a universal vacuum motor into it?  It would be a shame to let it go to waste because of the motor.

Re motor swap..

NO , nothing will fit but a GE motor, But those old GEs are common.

I was considering retro-fitting a Kenmore canister
Motor in it,But was hoping to rebuild or replace
The original motor with General Electric parts,
As the cleaner would not be the same with-
Out it's original motor.
