Oh well far as I know for the 600 the colours were white, a sort of pencil lead grey, and dark blue (I believe dark blue were the earliest)

400's were cream, a sort of bizzare green colour (a special edition for electricity board or something) and a light grey which was the co op special edition, i'm not sure about the others.

hope that helps,

Ian

There is one of these in a thrift store that I got my Kirby in. They want $75.00 for it. Might be worth it, but it's out of my budget. It is the prettiest reddish copper you would want.

600 series

any other fans of the good old 600 series?! From what I've heard they were quite unreliable and hard to push...my mum had one for about 9 years until 1995, replaced by a Sebo X1 we still have lol.
Would love to get one sometime to see what they are like again, i liked it back then!
Anyone know how much they cost new?
Rob

Index sold the 610 at £114.99 in 1987 and the 612 at £134.95 in 1988

How much?

turbomaster1984's profile picture
Our TOL Hoover Turbomaster which goes without saying performed way better than these Luxes was only £10 more expensive in 1988 when we got ours! My Aunt had a 612 and her carpets always looked awful. No tram lines and always had a gritty quality, I remember using the 612 and never found it hard to push. Nice blue colour, will always be fond of the style but performance was not where Hoover was at the time.

Cheers for the prices
I've never used a Hoover Turbopower or Turbomaster, from what I've heard they are great upright cleaners. Lux had a definate advantage with the tools though for above the floor cleaning!

I have to agree I think, cant remember how long the Lux hose stretched but Lux had that great long crevice tool and im eternally loving the 2 in 1 dusting brush and upholstery nozzle. Nice long soft bristles for great delicate dusting. Although small pieces of stone got wedged in the bars across the bottom when cleaning out the car etc when in upholstery mode. Nice handle on them too, shame the turbomasterpower didnt have the elbow on it for ease of grip. Im also Rob, my names are in wrong order in my profile, lol. Rob, :)
