I know ye could not be here with me so I have photographed some special cleaners, favorites of mine, and some of yours.

First, here are some oldies...a Senior Side Outlet (1910), a 10 inch Junior (1912), a 961 (1923), and a 972 (1926).

Enjoy!

Post# 145593 , Reply# 35   8/1/2011 at 23:00 (4,651 days old) by Brandon_W_T ()

John. and Tom for this fabulous collection.

I can't thank you Enough for these amazing pictures of even more amazing hoovers. The breath was taken out of my mouth when I saw those beautiful pre war coffee cans. They can't get any more amazing than that. Real treasures.

And every single other machine looks like they just rolled off the assembly line. And of course some almost did literally! There are models in there that bring memories and sellers remorse to me. I've let many a good Hoover pass through here. I loved them all.

Will hold on tight to the ones i love most like my 63 344 700 102 28 and my two 150s. And many more!

MY collection is back home in Pittston. THIS collection belongs to a very close friend in Ohio, where I'm a guest. AS far as Eurekas are concerned, you'll find that NEITHER of us has any at all. I've mentioned this numerous times before, (so as NOT to get MYSELF in hot water). I ONLY collect HOOVER,,any and every thing HOOVER, HOWEVER, I appreciate those who collect OTHERS. I'm sure ye have the passion and admiration for those names as Tom and I do for HOOVER. So, sorry, you'll find no Eurekas here. I'm honored to be able to share these with you. Everytime I come to the town where it all began, see my friends, and hear the stories, it reinforces my devotion and respect for the great name in floorcare.

Hi Josh - Unfortunately, I have no room to collect vacuums and so I was not able to hold onto any of the beloved Eurekas I used to own (260 upright, 2083 upright, 1425 upright, Cranberry World Vac canister, Boss Lite cordless stick vac, Bravo hoseless BOL upright, Mighty Mite II 9 amp canister). I DO have a neat 220-Volt version of the Mighty Mite II compact canister which I bought for use in Israel when I lived there a few years ago. That vac is in a box in my storage locker in case I ever go back. It's a really cool navy blue and Eureka slapped their "World Vac" logo onto the side of the machine!!!

I would love to see a Eureka collection like this beautiful display of Hoovers... :-)

That is an amazing collection of Hoovers! Can you tell me more about the privately labeled Hoover Dial-A-Matic in the second photo? The power drive model with the yellow base? It looks as though you have a few private label DAM's.

What great pice John, and thanks for the JCPenney shot, with what happens to be my favorite Penneys Convertible, there is just something so neat and clean about an all white Hoover in disguise. I just remember being in awe of Toms whole collection when I had the quick chance to view it, the JCPenney corner being my favorite of them all.

Sam,

gottahaveahoove's profile picture

Aren't they wonderful?   That "gold" Dial-A-Matic  is a Montgomery Ward label.  HOOVER made a lot of cleaners with that label as well as JC Penney,  originally billed, "Penncrest".    I have a little surprise for you, SAm,  Well,  kinda.  BUT,  I'm gonna make you wait a bit for THAT!  Yes, I AM cruel,   thank you for noticing.  lololo

John,

I'm ok with surprises and waiting a bit, as I'm assuming there is something Penncrest or JCPenney involved.
