Hi all today I acquired a nice vintage hoover 918,the base is gold tone cast aluminum with a black cloth bag I hope to get it cleaned up and into my Ebay store. Can some hoover expert tell me how old this vacuum is?

Circa 1968-1978

This replaced the 913 around 1968. The successor to the 918 was the U7037 around 1978, and was itself withdrawn from the market around 1985, as Hoover had wanted to manufacture more cleaners for the USA market in their hometown factory in North Canton, and this British-sourced model was not the way to go.
