Ok, perhaps I am still sick at my stomach, sorry. Friend dropped off her nice Kenmore, love the inteliclean and the electric agitator, it smells funny?? Open the hatch, NO BAG and full. Exhaust filter full! Second time. I guess that's how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsi Pop, cause from the smell and arcing I can see, she's done! It was a nice cleaner, only 5 years old maybe? Sad, I am sure a grandkid took the bag out to get a toy they sucked up. Sad.

They do make them bagless

I have a Bagged one I bought with in the last two years at Goodwill for $40 while Sears was still selling it new for around $300 or so. All it needed was a light wipe down and for the hair to bed cut off the brushroll. There was so much hair it had covered the brushes. Did that plus installed a new bag and filter and good to go. I was planning on reselling the machine but it is hummed instead of roaring as compared to my Hoover Windtunnel I decided to keep it. I really love Kirby and Lux the best but love the Kenmore Clear Air feature for cleaning up around the litter box where Smokie likes to fling the cat liter from time to time. I just don't the sound of cat litter rushing into the fan.

This was a great cleaning machine, they liked it enough to buy a second one for daughter, the one that killed hers I am sure. Tempted to take it apart to see what all melted. Parts donor for the other I guess.
