Ok, yesterday I was walking home and while I was on my normal route and while I was walking down a small street, I found a handle sticking out from a box, so obviously I looked in and saw a Dirt Devil Swift Stick! But the worst thing was the cord was cut off. It was and is in prestine condition, so I attached a cord to it and Viola! It turned on, but wait, there was no suction. So, I looked to the filter and it was clogged. So I cleaned it and now its working like a chamo! I think thats a little stupid that someone throws something out that works! :( Ill post pics later....

speaking of stupid people-what is it with those numbskulls that chop the cords off machines that have been thrown out?At least let some trash picker have a second chance with the vacuum.Better that then being crushed to bits in the hopper of the trash truck! And at that -the vacuum cleaner still worked!fortunately most of the Monday morning vacuums I have found still had their cords intact.I save these as "trade ins " to DTD vacuums I would like to buy.

Almost all trash vacuums I find work. There has only been a few I have gotten that have had bad motors. It is ALWAYS a broken belt, clogged, or needs a filter cleaned. Always. But sometimes I find them with the cord cut off, and that really sets me off. I have found 2 vacuums in one person's garbage, and the cord was all wrapped up on the cord wrap, but the person who threw it out, cut each cord in multiple places so I trash picker could not use it!

I have only gotten one vacuum from the trash that had a burned out motor, a Eureka whirlwind bagless. any others I have found have been simply clogged. if people had enough brains in their head to clean them out, we wouldnt get all of these good vacuums! I found a Kirby classic 3 about 2 weeks ago, and you guessed it, the bag was all clogged up! It works perfectly!about a month ago I also found 2 Kenmore canisters, a progressive and a whispertone both at the same place, the progressive was missing the power nozzle and the bag was PACKED, the whispertone had a brand new bag in it but the power nozzle was seized up. they both work perfectly, and the power nozzle just needed some oil on the bearings. I have found plenty of other vacuums that were just clogged too.

One of their friends told them they could be liable if the trash picker got "elexacuted" iffen they plugged it in, and they oughten to cut that cord off. None of the people here are that stupid.
