So I thought there may have been a yellow and white Convertible in the mid 1970s? |

Jonathan The last mainstream DAM/Convertible(UK) was indeed yellow and white. Made in France the flex and switch were mounted on the body of the cleaner rather than the handle. The burgundy DAM which emerged at the end of the 1980s, several years after the DAM had been dropped from the main product range, was a special - I believe it was carried by Allders and possibly House of Fraser Al |

Jonathan, it certainly looks like New Old Stock; that's a great find. Some years ago I saw a yellow U5010 on a car boot sale for about £10 and dismissed it at the time, being not all that old/collectable in my book. However, since then I've only seen the very odd one. More recently there was a guy on Ebay selling a similar yellow model, which looked like it had been imported from Europe. IIRC, it had a Buy It Now price of £200. I didn't feel like running to that but it was nice though. Stephen |

Back to the 70s. Strange how so many of these cleaners are so rare today. It wasnt all that long ago - or maybe thats just because I remember being a teenager in the 70s myself! |

Hello Tommy.
You have quite a large collection it L@@Ks like, nice. I spotted a Kirby G6 box & a motorcycle behind your current picture displaying some of your vacs. Do you have the G6? And what brand is the motorcycle, I can't tell from the picture? Again, nice collection & thanks for posting the photos. Cheers & hagd/n all, Bill |
