I stopped by the Miele dealer a couple weeks ago to buy bags for my Aquarius. While we were talking I noticed two Miele Arts in the corner, dusty but unused, that I've seen there for the couple years I've been stopping in. I asked him if anyone asks for them, and he said "no, and I would love to get rid of them. Want one for $90?" I was not drawn to them when they listed for $395, but now I was developing interest. I thought why not. So out of the store I walked with the cappuccino Art.

Now truly they are a niche machine - only for bare floors and very low pile carpeting. Anything thicker than a Turkish rug would not get clean. But for the hardwood floors in our house it is great. The airflow is tremendous and it pulls hair and dust toward the suction opening. It has a short hose on board with tools, but hose airflow is bad, about like a Model V Electrolux, and it is not intuitive attaching the tools to the hose. I actually had to read the manual!

If you have bare floors in your house, I can recommend it as a useful and handier adjunct to a canister. But for deep and thorough house cleaning, you need a full size machine. For $90, it is worth it.

Is that a straight suction machine or does it have a brush roll?

I was going to ask the brushroll question too, I thought it didn't have one, but I wanted to be sure. It looks really nice... does the head swivel? Yes, any relatively modern Miele for that price is a good deal.
